The Garmin GNS 530/430 is a dual-GPS avionics suite for an IFR-certified airplane. A single 430 or 530 functions as a communications radio (COM), a VOR/ILS/GS receiver (NAV) and a GPS.
As a four seater, high wing, single engine airplane equipped with tricycle landing gear; the Cessna 172 RG also includes a steerable nose wheel and two main wheels.
It is certified in the normal and utility category. It is not designed for aerobatic flight, though some maneuvers are permitted as per the aircraft’s POH. The aircraft is equipped for day VFR and may be equipped for night VFR and/or IFR.
